Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Discord, we receive your user ID, username, and avatar (the identify scope) and the servers you belong to along with your permission level in each (the guilds scope). We use this to sign you in and to work out which servers you can manage.
• Server and channel information. In servers where the bot is installed, we cache the server and channel IDs and names, along with the server's owner ID and icon, so that polls can be posted and kept up to date.
• Polls and votes. The polls you create and the votes cast on them. A vote record includes the voter's Discord ID and username so that results can be counted and, in non-anonymous polls, attributed.
• Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes the payment. We never receive your card details; we keep the subscription status and related billing records for your server.
• Session. A signed cookie keeps you logged in to the web app.

How we use information

We use this information to run the service: to sign you in, show the servers and channels you can post to, create and update polls, count votes, apply plan limits, and manage subscriptions. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share information with the providers that run the service: Discord, where the bot operates, and Stripe, which handles payments. If a server manager turns on an outbound webhook (a paid-plan feature), poll and audit events for that server, including server, poll, and actor IDs, are sent to the URL they configure. We otherwise do not share your information, except where the law requires it.

Retention

We keep polls, votes, and account information for as long as we need it to run the service. Removing the bot from a server stops any further collection there; existing records stay until you ask us to delete them, apart from the limited billing records we must keep to meet legal obligations.

Your choices

You can revoke Tally's access at any time from your Discord account settings, and you can remove the bot from a server to stop collection there. To ask us to delete your data, contact us on our Discord community server.

Changes

We may revise this policy from time to time. When we make a significant change, we update the date at the top of this page.
